Aljosja Buijs - Piano / keys

Aljosja Buijs studied piano and chamber music with Janine van Mever, Marjès Benoist and Willem Brons in Arnhem and Amsterdam. He also took master classes with Detlef Kraus and Yean-Yves Thibaudet, among others, and received chamber music lessons from Vladimir Mendelssohn, Colin Carr, Ab Koster and Pascal Devoyon, among others.

He has performed as a soloist in concerts by Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, Gershwin, Saint Saëns and Janacek and has played in very different ensembles from China to France.

Aljosja has a great love for contemporary music and crossover programs. He has played in Orkest De Ereprijs for many years and in his chamber music and solo concerts he is always looking for new connections in music.

At the ArtEZ Conservatory he is head of the Classical Music program.

You can wake him up for Ligeti, but certainly also for a nice Margaux, Murakami, travelling and home-made ravioli with sage butter.
